Arnos Vale Cafe is a modest, tucked-away spot perfectly suited for those exploring the historic Victorian cemetery on Bath Road. It has the feel of a quiet pit stop rather than a bustling café, making it a good choice for visitors looking to relax with a simple drink or snack after wandering the grounds.

The atmosphere leans towards calm and unpretentious, with a handful of small tables inside and some seating outside for warmer days. The staff are notably friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming environment without fuss. Visitors often comment on the helpfulness of the team and the clean, straightforward setup.

The menu doesn't aim for complexity; you can expect basic food options like warmed scones and a selection of drinks—including cappuccinos—that are satisfying but not elaborate. Homemade cakes, including a frangipane option mentioned by frequent patrons, add a touch of local flavor to the offerings.

Accessibility is well considered here, with spacious wheelchair-accessible toilets and a lift available, which makes it inclusive for a range of visitors. Beyond the café itself, there’s a small exhibition space just below, adding a bit of local history and interest to the visit.

Overall, this café suits those who are either taking a break from exploring the cemetery or visiting the garden of remembrance. It’s quietly charming rather than lively, best enjoyed during off-peak times when you can appreciate the peaceful surroundings. People who value a laid-back, no-frills spot to pause in an unusual city location will find Arnos Vale Cafe fits that niche well.

Nice café in the cemetery. Their frangipane is delicious. There is a very small exhibition under the café

Another overdue visit to this charming, historic Victorian cemetery. My son and I visited the little cafe, staffed by a charming and helpful young lady. The food is basic, but there is a choice of drinks. We chose scones, which were warmed, and brought to our table. We also had cappuccinos. The food was average, but palatable. We noted a few tables inside the little cafe, and there was outside seating available on a pleasant patio. Limited parking is located very near to the cafe, with a few steps to the premises. The menu could do with updating, to provide more choice, but this is a pleasant location for refreshments.

Lovely friendly staff, we went to put flowers in the garden of remembrance for our grandad. Such an interesting place to walk around, the groundsman was very helpful & Chatty. Cafe was clean, well priced and scrumpy cakes. Lots of history in the room below the cafe.

Accessible modern cafe with architectural merit. The coffee and food was great, highly recommended the freshly made bagels. Downstairs are loo's a small exhibition about the cemetery. Enough seating inside and out. Will come again.

Still a great cafe in a Crematorium. Updated review 'cos they have sunshades / cover over outdoor area. Coffee was blissful yesterday 2/6/25. In case you're wondering, although they still do burials there, the Crematorium is now retired. Coffee is great, cakes also. Very quiet and off the beaten track - it's one of our favourite places to stop when we're in the area.
